Saturday 18 February.

Another early start assisted by corvids and magpies in the nearby peppermint trees. Breakfast outside as usual. We drive into town to buy sea sickness tablets for the upcoming orca whale trip. 50km out on the Southern Ocean!

Then we drive to Lights beach and walk east along the WOW track - Wilderness Ocean Way. Then retrace our steps and pick up the Bib track ( which runs from Perth to Albany) until we get to Waterfall Beach. There is a waterfall here! I stick my head under it to cool off whilst C spots the pod of dolphins that a local told us about just off the beach

Onwards to Elephant Eocks spotting a family of kangaroos near the track. We arrive at Greens Pool and swim, relax and ear our picnic.

After a couple of hours we retrace our way back via Elephant rocks and waterfall beach. A total of about 3.5 hours walking through open scrub and peppermint groves. We take a beer from  the van fridge down to Lights beach which is well earned. A final swim in the mixing currents here and then we head for home.
